What to Recycle
Acceptable Recycling Items:
- Plastic Bottles
- Soda Cans
- Cardboard
- Paperboard
- Brown paper bags
- Phone books
- Junk mail
- Tin and steel cans
- Aluminum cans
- Catalogs
- Magazines
- Newspapers
- Office and school paper
- Cardboard – broken down
- Glass bottles and jars
- Plastics #1, #2, #5 and #7
- Cereal and food boxes
When In Doubt, Throw It Out!
- Soiled items, or items with food waste, grease, or food debris must be thrown out and not placed in recycling bins
- Food waste jars and plastic containers such as mayonnaise or peanut butter jars must be thoroughly rinsed before they can be recycled
- Recycled materials should always be loose in the bin and not put into a plastic bag
- Yard waste is not recyclable and should not be put into recycling
- Flexible packaging such as plastic bags, wrappers, and shopping bags should not go into recycling
- If the item isn’t on the acceptable recycling list, please throw it out
